First Store Setup

Walk through adding products, connecting Stripe, and configuring your first YNS store.

Adding Products

From your YNS dashboard, go to Products and click Add Product. Each product has:

  • Name — the product title shown to customers
  • Description — rich text description (supports markdown)
  • Images — upload product photos (multiple supported)
  • Variants — size, color, or other options with individual pricing
  • Inventory — stock tracking per variant

Product Variants

Variants let you offer different options for a single product. Each variant has its own:

  • SKU (stock keeping unit)
  • Price
  • Inventory count
  • Option values (e.g., "Large", "Blue")
// Fetching a product with variants via the SDK
const product = await commerce.productGet({ idOrSlug: "classic-tee" });
console.log(product.variants); // [{ sku: "CT-SM", price: "2500", ... }]

Connecting Stripe

YNS uses Stripe for all payment processing. During store setup, you'll connect your Stripe account via Stripe Connect. This enables:

  • Credit card payments
  • Apple Pay and Google Pay
  • Automatic tax calculation
  • Subscription billing
  • Payouts to your bank account

Organizing Products

Collections

Collections are curated groups of products. Use them for:

  • Seasonal promotions ("Summer Sale")
  • Product categories ("T-Shirts")
  • Featured selections ("Staff Picks")

Categories

Categories provide a hierarchical taxonomy for your products. Unlike collections, categories are structured and can be nested.

YNS includes customizable legal pages for your store:

  • Terms of Service
  • Privacy Policy
  • Refund Policy
  • Shipping Policy

Edit these from Settings > Legal Pages in your dashboard.

Custom Domain

Connect your own domain in the YNS dashboard under Settings > Domains. Point your DNS to the provided CNAME record and YNS handles SSL automatically.
