A sandbox is a pretend version of PayNow. You can run test payments and no real money moves. It is free and needs no contract.

## 1. Create the account

1. Open [panel.sandbox.paynow.pl/auth/register](https://panel.sandbox.paynow.pl/auth/register).
2. Fill in the registration form and submit it.
3. Open the email PayNow sends you and click the link to activate your account.
4. Log in at [panel.sandbox.paynow.pl](https://panel.sandbox.paynow.pl/).

## 2. Copy your two keys

1. In the PayNow sandbox panel go to **Ustawienia → Sklepy i punkty płatności** (Settings → Shops and payment points).
2. Copy **Klucz dostępu do API** – this is your **API key**.
3. Copy **Klucz obliczania podpisu** – this is your **Signature key**.

## 3. Paste the keys into your store

1. In your store admin open **Add-ons → PayNow**.
2. Find the amber **Sandbox** box.
3. Paste the **API key** and the **Signature key** into it.
4. Tick **Active in sandbox**.
5. Click **Save PayNow settings**.

Done. While your store is in [test mode](/help/getting-started/test-mode), checkout uses the PayNow sandbox.

## Good to know

- You do not need to set a notification address in PayNow. Your store sets it for you when you save.
- Sandbox keys and production keys are different. Sandbox keys go only in the amber **Sandbox** box, production keys only in the green **Production** box.
- Before you start selling for real, add your production keys and switch your store to live mode.
