Your store doesn't need every feature on day one. **Modules** are built-in YNS capabilities you switch on when you're ready for them — and leave off when you're not. Everything you enable shares the same catalog, customers, orders, storefront, and API, so nothing has to be wired up.

## Where to find them

Open **Settings → Modules**. Each module has its own card with a short description, a toggle, and — where relevant — a settings page of its own. Search the list if you know what you're after.

Turning a module on usually adds something to your dashboard sidebar, your storefront, or both.

Some modules are marked **Coming soon** — Auctions, Surveys, and Bookings are in that group today. You'll see them listed so you know what's on the way, but they can't be switched on yet.

## Configure before you enable

Modules with settings let you configure them while they're still off. You'll see a note reminding you that your settings won't affect your store until the module is enabled — handy when you want everything set up before it goes live.

## Enabling with care

Most modules are safe to switch on and off freely. A few deserve a moment's thought:

- **Stripe Taxes** switches your pricing to tax-exclusive, ignores your manual tax rates, and requires a Stripe Tax Code on every product. You'll be asked to confirm.
- **Omnibus price history**, in Legal & compliance, permanently deletes its historical pricing data if you turn it off after using it.
- **Warehouse** isn't a toggle at all — you activate it from its own page, and activation can't be undone. See [Track lots, expiry dates, and receiving with Warehouse](/help/products/warehouse) before you turn it on.

> **Tip:** Turn modules on one at a time and give each a proper look on your storefront before adding the next. It's far easier to spot what changed.

## FAQ

### Does enabling a module cost extra?

Modules are built-in capabilities of your plan rather than paid extras. Some features have plan limits — check [Manage your plan & billing](/help/account/plan-and-billing) if something is locked.

### What happens to my data if I turn a module off?

Turning a module off hides its features from your dashboard and storefront. Your data stays put, so switching it back on picks up where you left off. The one exception is Omnibus price history, which warns you before it deletes anything.

### How is this different from add-ons?

Modules are built into YNS. Add-ons connect your store to outside services like carriers, marketplaces, and email tools — see [Browse and connect add-ons](/help/integrations/add-ons).

### I enabled a module but nothing changed on my storefront.

Some modules need a little setup before they show up — a newsletter popup needs its content, restock alerts need an out-of-stock product. Open the module's settings page and check it's configured.
