# Stock-aware carts

*Version 1.279 – released 2026-06-17*

## Stock-aware carts

The carts API rejects a quantity larger than the available stock with a 409 instead of quietly accepting it. Overselling is caught the moment it is requested, rather than surfacing as a failed checkout or an order you cannot fulfil.
